Eindhoven City Council Approves Expansion of Brainport Industries Campus Cluster 2

Eindhoven, June 11, 2024 – The Eindhoven City Council has officially approved the zoning plan for the second cluster of Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven. This decision marks the beginning of the further expansion of this innovative campus, which plays a key role in the development of the high-tech manufacturing industry in the Brainport region.

Coordination with Stakeholders and Local Residents
The zoning plan was developed following a successful and intensive collaboration process between SDK Vastgoed (on behalf of VOF BIC) as the risk-bearing developer, the municipality of Eindhoven, and various partners. Throughout this period, there was intensive communication and cooperation with all stakeholders, including interest groups, local residents, and other concerned parties from the surrounding area. This dialogue resulted in a widely supported plan.

A Healthy and Green Environment
“We are particularly proud of the continued success of the first cluster, where technology and innovation are integrated with high-quality greenery and nature,” says Ferdinand Gremmen of SDK Vastgoed. The commitment to preserving and enhancing nature contributes to the goal of creating a healthy work environment for everyone. A clean, biodiverse, and climate-adaptive environment promotes a healthy lifestyle and facilitates and encourages social interaction. This integrated approach forms the foundation for a sustainable and healthy working environment.

Campus for High-Tech Manufacturing
BIC is the flagship of the high-tech manufacturing industry. It is an international campus in the heart of Brainport Eindhoven where top technology, education, government, and high-quality facilities come together to collaborate, learn, and innovate under one roof. The campus is designed to increase efficiency in production processes and foster collaboration within the ecosystem. Additionally, the campus attracts new talent due to the presence of leading educational institutions. Lifelong learning is practiced and promoted here. The BIC innovation program is developed to support startups and scale-ups in their development.

BIC Cluster 1 and 2 together form Brainport Industries Campus, the campus for high-tech manufacturing. The development and realization of BIC Cluster 2 will further strengthen the business climate of Brainport Eindhoven in the coming years.
